Set your workshop in Motion.

Automotive workshop management software for independent Australian workshops. Job cards, scheduling, invoicing and customer texts in one fast Windows app, with every record kept on your computers so you can still look things up when the internet drops.

Motion launches Q1 2027, every plan at once.

Motion is automotive workshop management software for independent Australian workshops, designed by a working workshop service manager. Every click has to earn its place.

Made by PXD Software (Performance x Design) in Australia.

From booking to banked, in one app.

Everything the workshop runs on. Fast, and built for Windows.

  1. 1

Labour, parts and notes in one workspace, lines grouped by who pays.

  2. 2

Send it, get the yes, turn it into a job card without retyping.

  3. 3

A day board of labour chips for each technician, with capacity at a glance.

  4. 4

Every customer and car keeps its history, notes and pop-up alerts, with automatic reminders, a two-way text inbox and campaigns built in.

  5. 5

Reminders go out on their own, booking confirmations and vehicle-ready texts wait for your click, and replies land in a shared inbox.

  6. 6

Build campaigns that match cars by make, model, year or kms and suggest the right job at booking. Create op codes with vehicle-fit rules, preset parts and charges.

  7. 7

Technicians clock on to jobs; hours export for payroll.

  8. 8

Deposits, split payments, credit notes and end-of-day cash-up.

  9. 9

    Stock, ordering, receiving and stocktakes.

  10. 10

Parts not ordered by the supplier's cut-off, oil under its minimum, car and customer alerts at booking, and a car that won't fit a bay's hoist. Flagged before they hold up a job.

  11. 11

Payables, petty cash and your asset register.

  12. 12

Seven reports that print and export: sales, gross profit, expenses, WIP and debtors, technician performance, a BAS summary and an accountant pack. Plus a monthly scorecard against your own targets.

  13. 13

KPI tiles, monthly targets and how you're pacing.

  14. 14

Bays on the board, the free loan cars when you book, agreements printed in a click.

  15. 15

Rego lookup fills in the car from the plate. Invoices and payments sync to Xero, with MYOB to come. Repco and Burson service data is coming, with more suppliers to follow.

  16. 16

Five access levels from Owner to Technician, and 20 settings you can tick for each person. Every change is logged, and owners and managers sign in with two-factor.

  17. 17

Five accent colours, light or dark mode, three invoice styles, two job card layouts, your own job statuses and the sidebar in your order.

One job, start to finish.

Oliver Miller's RAV4 Hybrid, one Wednesday at the practice workshop, followed through the real screens up close.

Scheduler day view for Wednesday 30 September 2026, fully booked: five technicians, Marcus, Dylan, Jordan, Lachlan and Mitchell, each with work end to end from 7 am to 4 pm (logbook, 4WD, minor and basic services, front struts, a timing belt and a warranty repair, a water pump, brake rotors and pads, two sets of four tyres, rear shocks, two batteries, a diagnosis, two air-con regases, a coolant hose and two safety certificates), each lane headed by the technician's bay, hoist and skills and at 8 of 8 hours, with markers for cars checked in, technicians clocked on, a loan car, a waiting customer and parts on order, To print (5) for the cars not in yet, and nothing left unscheduled.
A finished job card (JC-004268, Oliver Miller's Toyota RAV4 Hybrid 032JCC) in the Command Board layout: vehicle, customer, booking, hours, notes and total panels across the top, the service history strip, and three job lines (logbook service, wiper blades, tyre rotation) with their parts, labour, the hours Marcus clocked and the invoice they were billed on.
Time Clock kiosk at 10.40 am: a tile for each person who clocks in, showing Marcus, Dylan, Jordan, Lachlan and Mitchell on their jobs (job card and line) and Dave on admin, with when each clocked in and the hours on jobs and attended so far; Jordan Nakamura's tile is open with his clock-off, break and job buttons.
Customer record for Oliver Miller, scrolled down past his notes, texting consent and labour rate to the Text messages panel: the latest of his texts (his reply to the reminder the day before, the "ready for pickup" text with his "Great, thank you", and the thank-you after he paid, each delivered), above a reply box; his RAV4 Hybrid is listed underneath.
Tax invoice INV-4208 from Ridgeline Automotive for Oliver Miller's Toyota RAV4 Hybrid (032JCC), the A4 page Motion prints: the three jobs in the customer's words (the logbook service to Toyota's schedule with the engine oil and the oil, air and cabin filters, the front wiper blades replaced, the tyres rotated front to rear) with hours, rate and totals and the parts under the first two, then along the foot the tyre tread and brake pad readings colour coded on a plan of the car (5.6 and 5.4 mm at the front in green, 2.9 and 2.7 mm at the rear in amber, brake pads 7.5 mm front in green and 1.8 mm rear in red), the bank details to pay into and a balance due of $0.00.
Invoice INV-4208 open in Invoicing, beside the list of customer invoices, marked Paid and In Xero: Oliver Miller's bill-to, vehicle and job card details, then the three lines in the words the customer reads (a logbook service to Toyota's schedule with the oil and filters replaced, everything checked and the rear brake pads at 1.8 mm recommended for replacement soon; front wiper blades replaced and the washer jets re-aimed; the tyres rotated front to rear and torqued) with the engine oil, filters and wiper blades under them, hours, rate and totals, the subtotal, GST and a zero balance, and the EFTPOS payment on 30 September, with Print, Save PDF, Issue credit note, Fix money and Void buttons across the top.

Customer record for Nathan Koch, a customer since September 2025: an alert across the top ("Deaf, text only, never ring"), his contact details, a note about his two cars and how he books them, his texting settings with the signed consent on file, his labour rate, and the start of his text history.

Offline

Internet down?
Your workshop stays in Motion.

Every computer keeps its own encrypted copy of your workshop, and a change on one shows on the others in about a second. If the internet drops, the essentials keep going: write and edit job cards, finalise invoices, run the scheduler board, and look up any customer or car. Everything catches up the moment you're back.

It's quick because the work happens on your own computer, and it keeps going because your records are there too. Payments and sending texts wait for the connection.

Clarity

Easy from
day one.

A setup wizard gets you started, and a settings gear on each screen puts that screen's options one click away.

Explain any button. Right-click any button for a plain-English explanation, with more help a click away. Anyone can use Motion with confidence.

569controls covered.

Small things, done properly.

The details you'd only notice if they were missing.

At the keyboard

  1. Spell check in Australian English. Spelling mistakes get underlined before they reach a customer. It never autocorrects, and never leaves your computer.

  2. Y, D and T. In any date box press y for yesterday, d for today or t for tomorrow. Every second counts.

  3. Module tabs. Every screen opens as a tab and stays where you left it. No loading between screens, easy multitasking.

  4. PIN switching. Staff share a computer and swap in with a 4-digit PIN.

Booking a car in

  1. Rego lookup. Type the plate, press Enter, and make, model, VIN and engine fill in. Lookups at an additional cost per search.

  2. Customer and vehicle alerts. Red alerts and amber notes pop up before you book. Impossible to miss.

  3. Suggested for this vehicle. A matching service campaign, service due by date or kms, work that was quoted but never booked, and last visit's notes, right on the job card.

  4. Loan car availability. See how many loan cars are free while you book. A clash shows red before it happens.

  5. Technician skills. Skill tags on each technician's lane show who suits the job.

Around the workshop

  1. Hoist load warnings. Motion warns when a car is too heavy for the hoist it's booked on, using the car's weight and your hoist's rated capacity.

  2. 4-post only. Flag a car and the scheduler warns you before it's booked onto the wrong hoist.

  3. Brake and tyre readings. Tread and pad measurements get their own colour-coded spot on the invoice.

  4. Dashboard to-do list. A shared list with due dates for the whole team. Nothing gets forgotten.

  5. Activity log. See who changed what, and when.

Thinking about switching?

Switch without re-keying your history.
